I certify that adequate and timely notification was

made of the intention of the parties concerned to apply to

the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for an Ordinance styled

"An Ordinance to suppress and prevent abuses in the manage-

ment of Chinese temples and in the administration of the

funds of Chinese temples" before the same was brought into

the Legislative Council. Such notification was made in the

manner following:-

Notification of the intention of the parties to

apply for the said Ordinance was advertised in two issues

of the Government Gazette on the 23rd and 30th March, 1928;

in two issues of an English Newspaper circulating in the

Colony, namely,

The Hong Kong Daily Press on 4th and 5th April, 1928;

and in two issues of each of two vernacular newspapers

circulating in the Colony, namely,

The Kung Sheung Yat Po on 31st March and 2nd April, 1928,

The Tsun Wan Yat Po on 31st March and 2nd April, 1928.

A draft of the proposed said Ordinance was further published

in two issues of the Government Gazette on the 23rd and 30th

March, 1928.

A proof of the notification was made before me in

Executive Council.
